Site Activity Data
Matt Giraud Photography considers internet user privacy and data protection to be incredibly important.
Each time you visit our website (www.mattgiraud.com) the web server collects and logs certain information. We keep these access logs for a reasonable period of time. These logs include, but are not restricted to: your computer’s TCP/IP address, your username (if applicable), date, time and files accessed. These logs also contain information about referrer information if you clicked on an external link in order to access a webpage. We use these logs solely for performance, site administration and security reviews. We do not sell or share this information with any third party.
We collect only personal information about you, such as your name, address, email address, or telephone number that you voluntarily provide to us. For example, we may receive personal information about you when you send us an email through our website or begin the process of purchasing a print.
We do not sell any personal information we receive through our website to any third party, ever.
If you do not wish to have cookies stored in your browser, you may instruct your web browser to reject them, but know that this site may not perform as it was designed to do without them.
When using our contact form we collect the following information which is directly provided by the user: their name, physical address, email address and a message. The information provided is only used to reply or for direct contact with the user. This information is never used by third-party services or sold.
Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Inquiring about prints
In part to keep data safe, we don't operate an online store per se. We ask that you indicate which prints you're interested in purchasing, and then fill out a simple contact form to communicate what you're interested in, to whom we should respond, and ultimately, where we should ship your requested print(s) once we finalize your order.
When you inquire about purchasing a print, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, shipping address, and email address. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your order
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
- Improve our website offerings
- Send you marketing messages (very infrequent updates about what we're working and have worked on), if you choose to receive them
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 5 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
Who on our team has access
Members of our (minuscule) team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both I and my developer access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you
